Centum Investment Company PLC Hosts 20 Startups and Scaleups at Impact AFA At 11

Centum Investment Company PLC, in collaboration with Chanzo Capital and several renowned partners, is convening an impressive lineup of 20 startups and scaleups from across Africa to pitch at the 11th Angel Fair Africa (AFA) on November 7-8, 2024.

The event will be held at the Two Rivers International Finance and Innovation Center (TRIFIC) in Nairobi, Kenya. It will provide a prestigious platform for the next wave of African entrepreneurs to showcase their innovations and secure critical funding.

The Event Structure

The two-day event is split into separate focus areas:

  • Day 1 will spotlight early-stage Startups, offering them the chance to pitch for angel, pre-seed, and seed funding.
  • Day 2 will focus on more established Scaleups, looking for larger capital injections such as Seed, Series A, and Series B investments.

The selected companies hail from diverse regions including Tanzania, Kenya, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, and Mozambique.

These ventures have gone through rigorous preparation, having completed entrepreneurial programs such as the Spark Accelerator, managed by iHub, and the MEST Africa Challenge.

Scaleups, in particular, have also benefited from the Chanzo Onespace Startup and Scaleup Accelerator (COSSA), further preparing them for this unique opportunity.

The Road to AFA@11

Before taking the stage, participants will undergo final preparations during the Entrepreneurs Bootcamp on November 4-6, hosted at Onespace in the TRIFIC building.

This intensive bootcamp will offer fine-tuning and mentorship from the AFA team, ensuring each startup and scaleup is ready to make the most compelling case to potential investors.

Industry Support

TRIFIC and Onespace are central to this initiative, providing a hub for innovation and a gateway for startups to thrive.

Brenda Mbathi, CEO of TRIFIC, shared her enthusiasm, stating, “We are excited to welcome these incredible Startups and Scaleups to the 11th Angel Fair Africa at TRIFIC… this is exactly what our innovation hub program is made for.”
