MultiChoice Kenya has announced another price increase for its DStv services, set to take effect on 1st November 2024. This marks the second hike in 2024, following a similar adjustment in March.
“We would like to inform you that MultiChoice will be making adjustments to some of its DStv subscription prices effective 1st November 2024,” said Nzola Miranda, Managing Director of MultiChoice Kenya, in a statement to subscribers.
The latest increase ranges from Ksh50 for Lite users to Ksh500 for premium customers. In comparison, the March 2024 revision saw a rise of Ksh50 for Lite and Ksh600 for Premium subscriptions.
While no reasons were provided for this adjustment, the company emphasized its commitment to delivering value across its packages.
Nzola Miranda noted that DStv continues to provide a wide range of entertainment options for families across Africa, despite the price hikes. The company is actively seeking ways to enhance its offerings and ensure customer satisfaction.
In South Africa, MultiChoice reported an annual loss of USD 217 million (ZAR 4 billion) against revenues of USD 3 billion (ZAR 56 billion). This financial strain is attributed to macroeconomic pressures, leading shareholders to consider alternative ownership options, such as involving Canal+.
